Plantonin Krill Oil Plus is derived from a species of krill that is not from the seas of Japan or the Northern Atlantic. It is derived from the species, Euphausia Superba, that comes from the pristine Antarctic waters of the Southern Ocean. Euphausia Superba is not only a superior species of krill, but also is superior to fish oil. While fish oil is derived from fatty fish, krill oil is made from tiny crustaceans called Euphausia Superba that is thought to have a substantially larger reduction of fats in the heart and the liver than omega-3 from fish oil. These fats support a decrease in swelling, lower cholesterol, and support blood platelets being less sticky which are then less likely to form clots.
Plantonin Krill Oil Plus also contains natural astaxanthin – an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory carotenoid that protects DHA from oxidizing and going rancid. Astaxanthin is not found in typical fish oil. Krill oil is also phosphorylated. This means the DHA in krill oil is bound to naturally-occurring phospholipids. Phospholipids support the body and brain more efficiently. This improves the delivery of DHA into your brain, leading to the support of brain function. Over time, this can possibly lead to better communication between different parts of your brain.
Plantonin Krill Oil Plus sources its krill from Aker BioMarine, the only sustainable harvested krill fishery company in the world that is certified Eco-Harvesting by the Marine Stewardship Council.

Well, although I have taken fish oil supplements for years and years, I keep reading that krill oil is superior . And it’s a smaller dose that is equal to the two huge fish oil pills I take every day. The Astaxanthin is an added benefit and is in all krill oil naturally. So your only choice is where to buy it from . The Antarctic region boasts the cleanest waters and I think that’s the place I want to buy from . There are a few companies online making similar claims for similar prices , so do your own research. I’m looking for the heart and vein benefits and also the benefits for the eyes. This company seems to have high standards and at 50 cents a day for a quality supplement and reasonable size dose, it’s a good starting point for me

My last blood work showed my cholesterol creeping up again. I didn't want to take a statin drug, so my doctor suggested fish oil and red rice yeast together to help lower.
Reading the different fish oil options, I liked this one best.
Hard to tell you if worked yet though. I will need to update the review in September once next blood work is due.

Here's a krill oil that provides a group of astaxanthin and Omega 3s that I need. Having taking them for just about one month, I'm feeling the difference in the level of pain experienced with my osteoarthritis. I discovered the healing benefits of ataxanthin several years ago when I had a persistant rotator cup injury that did not respond to exercise or shots. Astaxanthin proved to be valuable in pain reduction and healing. What I had not understood at the time was the beneficial aspects of adding Omega 3s to my diet. This product has both, and their beneficial results are beginning to show in my reduced pain and improved flexibility. This is an excellent product that I am delighted to recommend.

I read the description of this product carefully before ordering. I did some independent research and was able to confirm the following:
This is a product of New Zealand from along a somewhat isolated region of the Antarctic coast which has one of the cleanest waterways in the world.
The Krill fish used to formulate this product are sustainably harvested.
Aker BioMarine is the only sustainable harvested Krill fishery in the world which is certified Eco-Harvesting by the Marine Stewardship Council.
Aker BioMarine is dedicated to improving human - AND - planetary health.
I not only take Krill oil for heart health and to reduce swelling, lower cholesterol, and make blood platelets less viscid to lower the risk of forming clots; but it has also been recommended by my eye doctor as helpful supplement for my clinical dry eye.
I had been using a Krill oil which is marketed under a well-known national name brand. I was unable to find much information at all about the company's efforts toward sustainability. Therefore, I was happy to find this Aker BioMarine formulation.

My cholesterol has been something that I have struggled with for years. I workout, eat relatively clean and try to take healthy supplements. But as my doctor says, you can do everything right, but you can’t outrun genetics. So I was compelled to try this product. I used to take fish oil and moved over to krill oil a year or so ago. I have seen a steady decrease in my bad cholesterol.

Now I am not going to say that this is the only thing I take to try and reduce my cholesterol but it does seem to coincide with my starting this krill oil regiment. I cannot wait for my next lab.
FYI … I didn’t change anything else in my daily routine. Whether it was working out or eating patterns, etc.
The manufacturer offers a hassle free refund if you take this product and are not satisfied.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this. All in all, the results speak for themselves. I am a believer in krill oil. Hope this information was helpful.

I've heard a lot about the benefits of krill oil over traditional fish oil. The added benefit of natural astaxanthin was what sold krill oil to me. Fish oil does not have natural astaxanthin. Also Plantonin krill oil is from the Antarctic waters off the southern ocean and not, as most krill is from, the polluted Sea of Japan. I hope I can lower my cholesterol, and my blood platelets will be less sticky.

I purchased krill for PMS management and so far I have seen an improvement. I will keep purchasing this product.

Currently using it to reduce fatty cells in my body. Last test done at the doctors showed blood platelets less sticky. Will certainly keep using.
